Control from your smartphone
Use the Philips Hue app for your iOS or Android device to tune, dim, and precisely control the brightness of your lights from anywhere. You can set timers, notifications, alarms, and set up geofencing so your lights turn on when you come home, or off when you leave, automatically. That's not just smart, it's downright polite -- not to mention efficient.

Easy to install, long bulb life
The Philips Hue A19 white light bulb features a standard medium base and screws easily into a regular socket, so you can use in any of your current light fixtures or lamps. It offers up to 25, 000 hours of lamp life, and uses 9.5W of power to illuminate and enable wireless connectivity within a 30m range.

Works with your Hue bridge
Using WiFi and ZigBee wireless connectivity, Hue A19 white light bulbs are controlled by your smartphone via the Hue bridge (sold separately, available in Hue starter kits). This connectivity also allows for integration into your smart home ecosystem. Hue A19 colour bulbs are HomeKit enabled and work with Nest. You can even create IFTTT (If This Then That) recipes via the cloud-based service to program automatic cause-and-effect lighting.

Enhanced home security and convenience
You can turn your lights on even when you're not home, so it appears as if you are. You can have your bulbs flash when your Nest Protect smoke/CO alarm (sold separately) detects danger. You can program them to alert when motion is detected, when the weather changes, or when a friend tags you via social media.
